Spring has to be the most optimistic time of year, when leaves uncurl, blossom appears and new life is generated through pollination.

Breaking branches of blossom from the blackthorn in the hedgerow and from the fruit trees in the orchard Linda brings these into her studio to paint alongside favourite cups and bowls with the occasional migrant insect. In quiet observation and contemplation of these things Linda reflects on the peace to be found in the natural order. Delicate petals and dusty pollen are loosely painted in simple compositions to create intimate still lifes full of joy and hope.

Linda studied Fine Art at Grimsby School of Art and at Kingston University. Her studio nestles in the countryside on the edge of Glynde in Sussex near where she lives. Linda Felcey shows in Sussex, London and with Hybrid in Devon.
