"My screenprints tend to be either images of forms of transport, or of animals, and both tend to fall into the category of moving or non-moving things.
I am interested in journeys, and destinations. There is something about this that runs parallel to the creative process, so that making a picture is also a search for meaning. Lightships are a current feature. Placed over dangerous shoals and rocks, they act as both beacon and warning.
The animals are more comic, or maybe tragicomic. I have always been intrigued by the inscrutable-ness of animals, particularly the ones that we interact with. In my pictures they often appear confused or resentful, or as if they might be trying to work out a very complicated puzzle."
