The story of Richard Adams and Combe House began when in 2002 Ken and Ruth Hunt saw an image by Richard Adams of a busy Georgian Kitchen. They had just completed the restoration of the Georgian Kitchen at Combe and they fell in love with Richard’s work and commissioned him to produce a picture inspired by their own Kitchen filled with all the staff members of that time, the "Combe family" of 2002. Wandering the house, gardens and grounds making studies for the work, Richard gained inspiration for a whole series of images which he exhibited at Combe that autumn. So began an annual event, now in its seventh year, where each October Adams shows a new collection of work at Combe. Lining the staircase are a collection of pictures created for Combe House together with some earlier works and several of his giclée prints. The pictures are created using chalk pastel fixed with varnish leaving a vibrant finish and permanent surface. The giclée prints are from limited editions signed and numbered by the artist. The Rolls Royce of prints, these giclées demonstrate remarkable accuracy of reproduction, they are available from Hybrid Gallery in Honiton.
