Toby Wiggins
Toby Wiggins studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and Design and gained a Diploma in Painting from the Royal Academy Schools in 1999.

He now lives and works in Dorset. His work covers a range of subject matter, landscape, still life and portraiture. His representational painting has drawing at its core and Wiggins has received recognition for his drawings in their own right.

He has been selected to exhibit in numerous group exhibitions; 2004/05/06 R.A. Summer Show 2003/04/05/06 Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2003/04/06 BP Portrait Awards at National Portrait Gallery 2003/04/05/07 Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries

He has also exhibited with galleries in Dorset, Marlborough and London and in 2008 at the Dorset County Museum and in London.

In 2006 he won the Jerwood Drawing Prize and he won the BP Travel Award in the same year. His Travel Award allowed him to take off in a tour of Wessex talking and recording the farmers and people working in the rural trades whilst he drew them, a testimony to his interest in rural affairs and the changing face of the countryside.

His awareness of the character of his sitters is evident in the warmth and sensitivity of his portaits and a similar understanding of his subject matter comes across in his still life painting.
